Custom Harley Davidson Fatboy

When this Harley Davison Fatboy came to the Jellybean AutoCrafters shop some modifications were already done but many details still needed attention. It was lowered, had a fat belt drive system, fat front & rear tires with custom fenders and was painted flat black along with a single leather seat on springs.

The client had some excellent ideas of what he wanted to achieve with this build so after a few consultations we came up with a design where we've mixed our ideas and design concepts and built what has turned out to be a beautiful work of art that is very unique and sports an out of the box concept. The idea behind this build is to create a clean and “mean” image yet refined to perfection in every detail so nothing was left unchallenged.

Part of the new design called for drag style handle bars with mid mounted pegs for rider comfort. Drag bars put the rider into a forward leaning position so mid mount pegs are needed for the riders comfort. There are none are available for a lowered bike so we designed and engineered a set in house that would mount between the upper portion and lower portion of the belt and a matching set on the opposite side. Ergonomics are very important in all our builds so this client now has a comfortable ride built for his body size making it a pleasure to ride.

The clean and simple look up front was achieved by fabricating a custom stainless steel set of 1 1/4” drag bars, relocating the speedometer and oil pressure gauges along with all switches to the sides of the engine, activating the front & rear brakes off the right pedal much like many new motorcycles do and using a twist clutch (left handle twists to deactivate clutch). The end result is a fat handle bar with no wiring, gauges, switches, levers or hydraulic cylinders.

The Ruby has a tall roof so 4 people car sit comfortably inside so the client will enjoy this example for many years to come.

The new seat had an unfinished area under it exposing the battery & related wiring. We fabricated a new metal cover that matches the style of the bike and painted it the same black as the frame so it blends right in.

Leaving no detail unchallenged we grained all the aluminum parts including portions of the headlights.

Many hours of engineering and design work went into this build to bring it to this perfect presentation but the end result is a beautiful and unique bike that stands out of the crowd, rides very well and is pleasing to the eyes.
